At Center for Discovery we are adolescent experts in helping teens who struggle with eating disorder and dual diagnosis issues. We are available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week to initiate the admissions process into either are adolescent eating disorders program (ages 10 - 19 years old) or teen dual diagnosis program (ages 12 - 17 years old), or to provide further resources if the adolescent is assessed to be inappropriate for residential treatment. Below is information on how to refer to Discovery.
When you have made the decision that a higher level of care is needed for your client (or they are ready to step-down to residential care), then it is time to contact Center for Discovery. Either you or your client's family can contact Discovery directly at . Be sure to let your client's family know to inform our Intake Staff that you are making the referral. Our Intake Staff is available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. You will receive a call from our Regional Manager of Clinical Outreach within 24 hours of the initial call to Center for Discovery Intake.
Discovery is a preferred provider to many insurance providers and we will assist families in verifying their insurance benefits, as well as setting up a financial plan for your client's family. We have an all-inclusive per day rate, which includes weekly medical monitoring from our Psychiatrist and Physician (eating disorder program), four private/family therapy sessions per week, multi-family group, over 40 structured peer groups per week, a private nutritional session, plus two hour didactic nutritional education weekly, hands-on meal exposure and preparation, restaurant outings (eating disorder program), recreational activities and formal education. There may be some additional fees for extenuating medical and lab fees. However, families will not be surprised by any unexpected charges during treatment.
When your client has completed our admissions process, which includes a thorough biopsychsocial, nutrition, medical/psychiatric, family, and recreational/health assessment, outside lab work and immunization history to ensure residential treatment is the appropriate level of care, you will received a call from your client's primary therapist within 48 hours of his or her arrival. At that point you will setup a Communication Plan with your client's primary therapist on when/how often you would like to be contacted during your client's stay at Discovery. When your client has finished treatment with Discovery and we are ready to release your client back to your care, or to a higher level of care such as Partial Hospitalization or Intensive Outpatient, you will receive a thorough Discharge Plan from your client's primary therapist. If your client lives within a close distance from our campuses, then we may be able to step your client down to our Partial Hospitalization program.
For further information, or at any time during your client's treatment with us, please feel free to contact the Regional Manager of Clinical Outreach in your area.
